Nottingham Board of Directors

A Volunteer Board, elected by the membership to three-year terms.

VISION

Sustain, enhance and grow our inclusive family friendly swim club.

MISSION

The mission of the Nottingham Swim Club Board is to provide a welcoming, member-owned pool facility managed in a fiscally-responsible manner with a focus on providing a community atmosphere. We carry out this mission by being compassionate, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of our multi-generational community, working to foster a positive and safe summer experience that encourages member involvement and drives long-term family memberships.

CORE VALUES

  • COMMUNITY

  • DIVERSITY

  • FAMILY

  • FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

PRESIDENT

Larry Abbott and his wife, Melissa, both grew up in Louisiana where they spent a significant portion of their childhood fishing, waterskiing, and swimming in the same local river. They moved to Delaware in 2000 and joined Nottingham Swim Club in 2005 after the birth of their first child. They raised their three children in the Nottingham community for 10 years, then moved to Covered Bridge Farms in 2015. Larry has two passions in life: his family and the outdoors.

Larry is eager to help carry on the tradition of the Nottingham Swim Club. You will often hear him say that there are three simple priorities for the pool. Those are to have fun, be safe and to remain fiscally responsible. He welcomes any feedback from pool membership on how we can successfully achieve these goals.

SWIM TEAM CO-CHAIRS

Greg Ariff grew up in New Jersey, spending his summer weekdays at the neighborhood pool, going to swim practice in the morning and staying to play all day with his friends. When he was old enough, he life guarded and then coached swimming at another nearby swim club. Greg moved to Nottingham Green in 2008 and was happy to discover a neighborhood swim club that could provide the same experience of community and opportunities for fun and competitive swimming to his own children. Greg has been a member of Nottingham Swim Club since 2011 with his wife, Holly, and sons, Robby and Ben. Greg has enjoyed supporting the swim club and team as a volunteer, including serving as a swim meet official for many years. As a board co-chair for the swim team, Greg is committed to continuing the Nottingham tradition of providing our youth with a fun, supportive, and character-building experience through competitive swimming.

Kevin Hudson, along with his wife, and three children have been members of the swim club since 2010. All of his children are on the swim team and the whole family is excited for another year of swimming and comraderie.
