Keeping us safe, Making us proud
In most cases, our guards are lifelong Gators. They've grown up at Nottingham, know other members, love our pool, and are invested in making it a great place to spend summer days! The guards are certified and well trained to keep swimmers safe. They are friendly and helpful, but also have an important job to do, so we need to allow them to stay focused while in the guard chair. And, remember, even though they're young, they're in charge! And they LOVE pizza, burgers and treats...(hint, hint)
Brian and his family are lifelong members of Nottingham Swim Club and he swam for the Gators through high school. He currently lives in Nottingham with his wife Sarah and two young children, Carter and Marshall. Brian managed and coached at Nottingham in 1999 and began again in 2006 as co-manager and co-head coach with Chris Collier. During that time, the club membership grew and the swim team won four consecutive SSL championships from 2011-2014.
Brian is a 2000 graduate of Elizabethtown College, with a degree in Social Studies Education, and spent 16 years in the classroom. Brian coached the Newark High Boys Swim Team from 2007 to 2017. He has earned multiple Master's Degrees from Wilmington University and has spent the last five years as Dean of Students and Head Lacrosse Coach at William Penn High School.
Away from the pool, Brian loves spending time with his family going on hikes at White Clay Creek Park or down at the beach. He is also an avid pit master. If you're ever walking around the neighborhood and smell BBQ it's probably coming from Brian's backyard.
Brian is very excited for the opportunity to come home to Nottingham and is committed to everyone having a fun, and most importantly safe, time at the pool.
